Home theatre projector
This is an awesome product for the price. Amazing really with hdmi, the two downfalls are the replacement bulbs are really hard to come by and expensive. The other is the pixels are quite large making it a little hard to read writing on the screen. On the up side, this unit does have a television in it, which is hard to find. I have had this unit about a year and has performed as expected for the price you can’t beat it.
Never Again
Do to the fact i order this product on a standard delivery took 3 weeks and never received the package even after the due date. No udgrade or tracking information from the company i order from.No info regarding my package on were its about.Or were the location of my package is.I order on a Monday to were my account told me my package was send out to me. later after i email them they told me my packaged didn’t leave until wednesday.After i received my refund i order the same product from china i received my package less then a weeks.
Decent for the price
What a great projector, if only it worked like I wanted it to! For the $350 bucks, it exceeded my expectations. You get a spare bulb (yes, this seller supplies a spare bulb too), 3 cables, remote, lens tissue and a hilariously translated manual. The internal speaker was better than I expected, and the picture looks pretty darn good.
The rub is, it has no zoom, a feature I thought standard and crucial to a projector. The only way to change the size of the picture is to move the projector closer or further from the screen. For this reason, I am planning on returning it. If I had a bigger wall or only used it occasionally, that probably wouldn’t be a big deal. The manual keystone correction is also a bit funny. Alas! if only it had a zoom!
Buyers Looking for HD Projector Beware!
If you are looking for a projector to replace your 1080I HDTV, or are planning on upgrading to HD service with a projector, plan on spending a bit more money than this. The NATIVE RESOLUTION of this projector is 800×600. This means, even though it will accept a 1080I signal, it will DOWNSCALE(compress) the image to fit the maximum physical resolution of 800×600. Your resolution will be higher definition than if you were watching on a standard TV, but it will not be a true 1080I picture.
If you are just looking for a cheap projector to hook up for fun, like to a WII, or for kids movie parties or whatever, this is a great deal since it is compatable with just about everything.
I just wanted to give you all a heads up, please make sure whatever projector you are buying, meets your ‘native resolution’ (maximum true definition) needs.

Skeptical at first, but satisfied.
I purchased the projector for my son’s birthday party sleepover. We wanted to have his guest play the Wii outside on the garage door. The delivery was FAST. Set up was easy. The day of the party, I just knew something would go wrong with it……but it didn’t. The graphics are awesome in the dark. The input for sound is standard. When you increase the volume too high you hear a humming sound. That problem is fixable. My husband plugged in a speaker that we had in the basement and the kids went wild with the sound and graphics. The projector is compatible with our Wii, PS3, and dvd player. We don’t have the Xbox 360 so I don’t know how well it would work with that system. Overall I was a bit skeptical, but we are throughly satisfied with the projector.

The ES522 has got to be the best projector in its price range. It is easy to use and provides a crisp image with very good color. At 2800 lumens there is no need to darken the room.
An amazing piece of cinematic tech!
I was waiting with great anticipation for this projector and let me tell you how satisfied I am with my purchase. Please don’t think I’m pulling you leg because this little bundle of joy is everything and a bad of chips!
First of all, it’s extremely light weight and is super easy to operate. The operational buttons on the device enable you to adjust the settings and the manual focus feature, although low tech, works smoothly. The biggest surprise was the picture quality and the ability to change from 4:3 to 16:9 aspect ratios. As for the picture and color quality, that’s dependant on the video source you decided to connect to the projector. For example, I connected my laptop to the device and the picture quality was great. I didn’t experience any picture compression or letter distortion. I can’t tell you how much fun it is to run HD You Tube video’s on my wall. I then connected an old DVD player it but the picture quality wasn’t as good as my 1080pi HD television. However, I did connect a new DVD player that I picked up for $55 dollars that converts standard DVD movies to almost 1080pi picture quality. The picture quality was off the hook and I couldn’t believe the immenseness of the picture this small device could project. I have a moderately sized 1 bedroom apartment and let me tell you, I was able to generate a 130 inch screen without making my Optoma sweat. Keep in mind this projector can also be connected to any HD cable receiver or HD player via component cables. You’ll need to purchase a Component to VGA adapter to accomplish this which can be purchased through Optoma or right here on Amazon.
In conclusion, there are many projectors out there that can range from really cheap to really expensive. You’ll also find projectors that range from being user friendly to needing a PHD in computer science to figure out. This small yet mighty project is the happy medium. It’s reasonably priced and has all the features of your really expensive brands and models. I sincerely can’t say enough about this projector other than hurry up and buy it.

This projector is an awesome deal. I have had it now for 3 months. It runs quiet. It is small, compact, and light. It has a bright display with great resolution and great contrast. I have had three projectors and this one has definitely been my favorite. You can’t beat the price either. Good luck finding another projector that is new at the same price with the same specs.

very good so far
this is my second projector – first one with XGA.
lumens if very bright and XGA gives more clear view than before.
good price for this level of lumen/xga standard.
only draw i see is – for my old one, after connecting power cord, i can turn ‘on’ with a switch – this one doesn’t have any switch, so plug the cord, it’s connected. (it still have ‘power’ button to start fan/bulb)
also, for old one, when i turn off fan/bulb (hitting power button, twice, power light was flashing until it all settled down – once it’s steady, i can turn off the power with a switch, disconnect power cord.
for this one, blinking light is always there, so can’t see when it’s turned off (of course, yu can see bulb is off since nothing projected out of projector).
turn on/off time is very fast, though.
Bright and good quality
This projector is good on image quality and brightness. However, the projection angle control is not that easy. I put it at high level and the projection angle is too high for me.
Impressed so far!
Just received the Optoma EX532 today. Impressive image quality and the 2800 lumens is plenty bright enough to work in my living room with the lights on – pretty cool. Also, the projector is extremely quiet. Smaller and lighter than I expected too – pretty awesome for $550. Have no idea how it will withstand the test of time but very impressed with the projector for the 2 hrs I’ve played with it.

Great Low Priced DLP Projector
PROS: This projector was purchased to replace my old Proxima Projector with a burnt out bulb.
(Same cost for new projector vs. replacement bulb)
I have it ceiling mounted at 14′ from screen with a 96″ diagonal screen. The picture is large and bright.
The setup was very quick once you realize to use the arrow keys in the middle and not the ones on top. Use the “Auto” Setting for picture size and you’ll always have the largest picture when switching from TV to DVD.
The projector has a 3k lamp life in Bright mode and 4k in Normal. Bright is great for daytime viewing, but Normal is more than enough for Night time viewing. The projector will also give you a warning when your within 30 hours of the end of the buld life. Overall Great Picture Quality and Size especially for the price.
CONS: I didn’t know that you need a special adaptor when doing a Ceiling Mount. My old projector was mounted with 1 screw and the Optima projector requires a 3 Screw mounting plate adaptor. (Needs to be purchased seperately)

Great Product

This is a tiny little power house which works great at 25 feet in a fairly dark room on a screen or white wall. It fits nicely in a computer bag along with the computer and is quick and easy to set up and run through simple slide or power point presentations. Mine came with an I-phone cord but I have not had a chance to use it. I found it worked with all the files I tried but I’m a basic Windows users and did not try anything out of the main stream. Quiet and very low power use. I was also able to hook it up to my Digital camera and run through a slide show which had a bit of a Wow that’s cool factor. While I think this would be great for business people I’m having fun using it for personal things like sharing photos to groups of friends and family. I’ve not hooked up my video camera yet but that is the next thing.
I love this cool tiny projector
MPro 150 is the coolest mobile projector I have seen on the market. I bought this unit when it first came out for its versatile functions and its quality design. I have played movies, presentation files, photos with it and they all work great. I can’t believe it runs like a handheld computer with such a small form factor. With it I can project a movie to 50inch size in the dark and that is a good quality movie I can enjoy. The internal memory is really useful so I can see goodbye to cables on the go. Unlike some other units I have tried, the projector stay cool during the entire operation. And the color is accurate. I love it!
playing from stored memory
I found the projector to be a good value ovrall but was dissapointed to find that there were some files E.G. with PDF and MP3 formats that the projector would not play from it’s internal or chip memory. I had to test everything to see if it would play or not.

A nifty little product
I was fortunate enough to be able to test this product for the Vine program. The 3M Pocket Projector MPro150 is a product that is useful, as my job frequently requires presentations without there always being projectors readily available. I was happy to take a look at the MPro150, to check out its different capabilities and see what it could do.
In terms of the quality of the image, I have to say that the projector looks great projected against a screen or a plain wall. The box says that it works at up to 50 feet away from the surface being projected onto, and while I didn’t test it at that great a distance, I got a great looking picture at all the different distances upon which I tried it.
As far as ease of operation is concerned, the unit is superb. The menu has some easily recognizable pictograms, and navigation is extremely simple. I had little problem going through Excel and PDF files, as well as the more vanilla PowerPoint and text files. Good stuff.
Connecting to other devices is pretty simple. It really is plug-and-play with the PC, and the iPod/iPhone hook-up worked quite well in being able to play music directly from the phone (though not, say, pictures from the phone). The smart card works well with the unit’s file system, and I can’t get over the projector being able to actually hold presentations, plus videos and all the rest. Very cool.
Overall, this device does everything that I could possibly have expected it to do. I would give it a solid five stars.

BEST printer in its class!
MAY 2010 (I don’t know if this is a rant, book, or review. I know I invested easily over 12+ hours into researching for a printer before this purchase). Price I paid $550 (includes the tax).
This is my first laser printer purchase.
I DO NOT print marketing material, brochures or like Kodak pictures.
I mainly print correspondence letters w/ colored letterhead and PDFs of documents e-mailed to us, which look like birth certificates, marriage certificates, etc. And basic B/W print jobs.
I run a small business, translation agency, and a service we offer is certified translations that people use for government, legal, immigration, etc. Print quality is extremely important to me for these projects.
For my business whether it was for 1 page or 20, I’d have to run over to my local print shop that offered high quality color laser printing.
This is fine if I did occasional printing, however at times I’d have to run over 3-4 times a week (gas/car usage/traffic). After 5-6p, the shop would be closed, so I’d have to ensure to be there early (and avoid the busy times) combine that with creating a time to meet the translators and notary to certify the documents, sometimes a project would be more hassle than what it was worth. Not to mention if their printer wasn’t booted up or networked properly that day, or if the store was busy, staying at the printer store for 30-45 minutes wasn’t uncommon for less than 20 pages.
I did this for about 5 months. Finally, one day, I couldn’t tolerate the copy shop, not the staff but just the runs and timing. I decided it was time to purchase a laser printer. I knew I’d eventually be ready for one, and it was time.
I originally contacted Xerox. However, after not receiving the sample prints requested after a week, and after I followed up with them on the phone (and e-mail) and still not receiving them. I wasn’t going to call a second time. I was originally looking at the Phaser 6140 (not to mention I didn’t read a lot of feedback on this printer since there are hardly any user reviews on this product anywhere online – minus CNET, PCReview, etc.).
I started to look at what printers are available that I could purchase in stores.
The main things I was looking for in a laser printer were high quality printing (color printing a must) and low printing cost.
At my copy store I was getting .10 b/w and .35 color. I knew printing at home in the long run WILL be more expensive but it’s something I was willing to do for the convenience and if somewhat a reasonable cost per page.
Anyone considering a purchase of $500 for a printer I hope you know the basics, that you will NEVER get the page count that your ink box says.
Anytime it says what the page count is on a box of ink or specifications it’s going by 5% ink coverage on a page.
Full cartridges is supposed to print 2,800 pages @ 5% coverage on this printer.
-5% coverage looks like 1/3 of the page, 2 small paragraphs. No bold characters, no graphics and no pictures.
I’m estimating I’m printing around 15% coverage(full page text) on average to 30% max.
-This cuts it from 2800 pages to 450-900 pages when I insert full cartridges. Median is about 675 pages.
I don’t plan to buy genuine HP cartridges ($400 to replace all 4). If I did, I’d be paying .62 per copy.
You can buy re-manufactured/compatible for around $200 per set, which would be around .33 per copy.
I’m going a step further and going to refill my cartridges myself, so I’ll be looking @ .16-.20 per copy.
*All prices includes .026 per page for paper.
**Refill pricing also includes the price to buy genuine HP empty cartridges which are “virgin” have never been refilled.
When it comes to quality, with HP the printing QUALITY will be there. If it’s anything from the reviews I’ve read and my own experience, it’s better if not the same than copy store printing which was my main goal.
I felt with a lower quality printer, I’d be investing in toners which is what I don’t want to do. Just like the “disposable” ink jet printers you pick up for around $40-$99 and invest more in inks that print barely a 100 pages.
Before finding this HP printer I considered:
Brother brand laser printer, specifically model HL-4040CDN ($400) however I was really suspicious of the reviews. Amazon, and store retailer sites it seems every brother printer is rated 5 stars and great reviews. However, if you look at the few negative reviews, everyone specifically mentions the quality of printing, a reoccurring theme, and they seem to strongly disagree with the positive reviews. Not to mention it would need maintenance parts. I decided to forgot about this brand printer. I do own a small label printer (QL-570) by Brother which I’ve really enjoyed.
I thought about going back to Xerox, and ordering the Phaser 8560 ($799) specifically this model because of “solid ink” what they don’t mention is it’s basically wax. The machine has to be turned on at all times to keep the wax at the right temperature. When it’s turned off and then on, expect 3 minute wait time to print and printer will automatically always print a full color test page when ready (which wastes ink). That still didn’t deter me from buying this printer. I’ll tell you what you did:
1. You can scratch off the ink with your nail (it’s wax on paper!)
2. I don’t feel it’s safe for archival/long term purposes (since my clients are getting official documents translated/certified, you can bet these will be stored for a long time).
3. If the pages are scanned, and the scan glass becomes hot, the wax can melt causing smears, etc.
4. Since the printer is always on and wax is heated apparently overtime whether in use or not, this causes ink to evaporate (since I may go days without using it, this didn’t seem like a good choice).
5. Apparently it sucks up a lot of juice when printing or cleaning itself, causing lights to flicker (I have old wiring in my home, so prob not a good choice).
If I was printing just marketing materials, etc – I may have actually pursued it to get some samples to actually see the hold up on this ink and put some of the above to a test. Since the solid ink did have some pros, seemed cost effective and ink never expired.
I looked up Minolta brand laser jet, but after researching toner costs and cost per page, it didn’t take me long to not pursue any of their color lasers.
I did not research Lexmark (bad experience with this brand in the 90’s).
Samsung, same thing as Minolta, once I start getting into toner expenses and cost per page, didn’t seem reasonable.
I did not research any Canons too thoroughly, the ones in stores were “MultiFunctions” ($600+) which I didn’t need. No need to pay extra for fax, copier, scan, when I won’t be using that (keeping my small all in one for scans for now and I have an online fax account).
A quick look compared to Canon and HP, at this point still looked like HP was a better deal on cost per page.
**Beyond the Brother printer, I did not research the other brands to find out what maintenance parts may have been needed or if needed.
Experience so far with my HP:
SET-UP:
Very easy to set up once it’s un-boxed, HP is very “plug and play” friendly. I didn’t even read the main set-up manual, just went by that 1 page that’s taped on the printer that has like 5 steps. The software CD downloaded in like 5-10 mins (I have Vista). Remember not to plug USB into your PC until the software tells you too. I should mention it’s heavy.
EASE OF USE:
Once all connected I was printing a page within a minute, that should tell you everything. I noticed we didn’t have the traditional, normal, best, fast, draft, options like a normal ink jet would, which isn’t an issue, anytime I’m using this printer I’d probably be doing the ideal setting anyway.
FEATURES:
Pretty basic, I’m not recalling any features specifically on this printer that stands out. Once thing I would have LOVED is automatic wireless networking (like their office ink jets), but since I print only occasionally I don’t mind moving my laptop to the printer to connect to USB.
Noise and Print Speed:
I’m neutral on those. These two factors really didn’t play any factor in me purchasing this printer. As I start actually using it, I don’t have a problem of how it sounds or the speed, the pages pop right out, way different than an ink jet.
Since I mentioned electricity earlier, I have horrible wiring in my house, older home, and lights didn’t even flicker when printing, or calibrating, etc.
Quality:
No complaints here. This is probably why HP is a leader in this domain, their quality of printing. For what I print, it’s excellent, A+ (keep in mind what I print).
Paper:
I feel the quality of paper also has a lot to do with the quality of prints. I noticed when the copy store would accidentally print my paper on regular copy paper, it would look horrible/low quality.
For my HP, I’m using Hammermill Color Copy, 28lb, 100 brightness (has an apple on the front as of May 2010, retails $13 in a chain store).
I compared it to HP paper, HP 100 paper (I think 24lb on HP) to Hammermill 100 paper, HP actually looked gray! It was an easy choice to pick the Hammermill, I liked a heavier paper so I chose 28 versus 24lb.
Forgot to mention—printer comes with introductory (half-filled) cartridges, supposedly 1200 pages @ 5% – I’m expecting around 200-400 pages.
I’ll update this review once I use the intro cartridges out and let you know how it did on page counts and probably when I get into the refilling phase.
I know this was a long read, but if this was all in one place when I was searching it would have saved me a lot of time.

Very good printer
Purchased this printer for a small business. This is a very good printer. I always judge a product by asking: would I buy it again? Yes is the answer for this one. This printer doesn’t jam. Prints nicely. Cost of ink is reasonable (but not cheap). I have this printer on a Apple router (Time Capsule) on a network. Shared by 4 computers. All stay connected. We print our marketing ads ourselves. The colors come out great. I don’t regret this purchase one minute!

The only good thing I have to say about this printer is that the duplexer works really great. The CP2025 is noisy and slow, and its cartridges are VERY EXPENSIVE. Once any ONE color cartridge runs out, it stops the entire printer: you cannot even print monochrome after that. It stinks like burning plastic when doing 100 pages or more. It prints pictures darker than they should be. After every ten pages it stops to “CLEAN.” All paper, even 28 or 32 lb paper comes out all crooked; do not even consider doing manual back to back printing. Index cards come out bent diagonally, and are impossible to file. I have worked with HP printers for about 25 years now, and have always held them in high esteem. This one, despite the glowing reviews I read up front, has greatly disappointed me. The tray comes out too easily and is flimsy. You cannot override the settings to ensure the printer uses only one tray. I loaded as many index cars in tray as it will take, and started a print job. Once the printer finished printing all those cards, it immediately started pulling letter paper from tray 2. I had wasted about 50 pages before I realized what was going on. I admit, that is my stupidity. I should have known by that time I dare not trust this printer! I will gladly give it away (to someone I hotly dislike), but that would load the recipient with a liability rather than an asset, and a costly one to maintain, too. I know no one I so hotly dislike!!! Website support is HyperPathetic. (Capital letters intended). Numerous times I had to go through a maze, only to be informed the CP2025dn is not a valid printer name, and that even though I registered the printer after buying it. I once sought help on the website but got nowhere. I emailed the webmaster, and he was very helpful in response. But not being technical support he could not give me a proper answer. Do yourself a favor: do not buy this printer!

Overall an excellent product as far as performance goes. Incredible speed from low power mode to the printed page being in your hand. Duplexing and networking works wonderfully. My only issue (and it is a big one) is that this is one of those printers that cycles ink from all of the cartridges no matter if you are using them or not. I installed 3 new color cartridges (and later in the middle of the print job another 1). And after completed a 98% black (3 blue 14 point titles), 2000 page print job, all of the color cartridges were down to 80%. Honestly, this is a breaking point to me where if I had known it, I would not have purchased it because the cartridges are $89 to $125 each retail.

Performance and interface are great!
Consumables (toner) can be an issue.
I would not purchase again.
Excellent photo print quality for a color laser
Any color laser will do the job if color accuracy and tonal range aren’t important, as when you’re printing simple color charts, and all you need is solid blocks of recognizably different colors. Photos are a different story, however.
A color laser is never going to give you the sort of lab-quality prints you expect from a high quality injket photo printer matched with the right paper. However, it can come close enough when simply “very nice looking” is all you need, and you want the results faster and cheaper. For example, a real estate brochure or something similar.
Unfortunately, not all color laser printers are up to “good enough” when it comes to photos. I owned a Xerox 6110n, for example, which did a terrible job with the subtle color ranges in flesh tones. As a result, faces looked flat and cartoonish, completely unacceptable. I’m pleased to say the HP CP2025dn is much, much better. I doubt you’ll get better color reproduction with any other color laser printer.
It has two paper trays, which means you can stick envelopes in the multi-purpose tray and ordinary paper in the built-in tray, and you won’t need to change back and forth as I did with printers with just a single tray. There have been some rumors to the effect that early copies of this printer had problems feeding from tray #2 when there was anything in the multi-purpose tray, but I had no such difficulty.
Setup was rather easier than my previous network printer. I didn’t have to set up a fixed IP address and re-direct a fake USB port to that address; the installation program found the printer without difficulty.
It’s fairly compact, unlike many color lasers. Amazon gives the box dimensions, but the printer itself is actually 15.5″ wide x 18″ deep x 12.5″ tall. You’ll need a little in back for the cables and up top for the paper output, but it fits easily in my somewhat small under-desk printer stand.
The toner cartridges are in a fairly simple tray system, and you can access all four of them (cyan, yellow, magenta, and black) at once. When the time comes, replacing any of them will be trivial.
Automatic double-sided printing is pretty nice. You have to select it in “printer properties” before OKing a print job, but the option is easy to find once open the properties dialog. I printed my tax returns for my records this way, and cut the amount of space they take in my file folder in half.
I did a fair amount of research before deciding on this as a replacement for the Xerox 6110n, and ruled out some cheaper color lasers on issues of reliability and print quality. Since my HP 4L is still running without trouble after 17 years, I have high expectations for the reliability of this printer.
